AssuraMed’s beginnings date back to 1928 at a corner pharmacy in Garfield Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Today, we are a nationwide leader in home-delivered and wholesale medical supply distribution for diabetes, ostomy, wound care, urological, incontinence, respiratory and other chronic conditions.
Michael B. Petras, Jr., Chief Executive Officer
Michael B. Petras, Jr. has been AssuraMed’s Chief Executive Officer since early 2011. Before joining AssuraMed, Michael worked for Connecticut-based General Electric from 1992-2010. In his most recent role at GE, Michael served as President and CEO of GE Lighting. During his more than 18 years there Michael had roles within Product Management, Six Sigma Quality, and Sales. Locally, he is a board member of The Cleveland Foundation and John Carroll University and was recently appointed to The Cleveland Clinic’s Board of Trustees. Michael is also a past board member of Achievement Centers for Children, United Way of Cleveland, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership. He holds an MBA degree in marketing from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from John Carroll University, both in Cleveland.
Kurt Packer, Chief Operating Officer and President
Kurt Packer was named AssuraMed’s President in September 2010. Prior to that, Kurt was the Chief Operating Officer, a position he held beginning in early 2010. Since joining AssuraMed in 2002, Kurt has held positions as Chief Financial Officer and as a member of the Executive Management Team. Kurt held various financial and operations positions including Chief Financial Officer at Wayne-Dalton Corp. before joining AssuraMed. Kurt began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. where he held various positions over a period of seven years. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Akron.
Chris Lindroth, Executive Vice President, Edgepark
Chris Lindroth was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President for Edgepark in 2010. Chris joined Edgepark Medical Supplies in 1999 as the Vice President of Managed Care, expanding contractual access and sales to Managed Care Organizations. In 2002, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales, adding responsibilities for sales to health care professionals and patients. Chris began his career with McMaster-Carr Supply Company in Chicago and advanced in a variety of roles including domestic and export sales and marketing, supply-chain and call center management. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Beloit College with a B.A. degree in Economics and Management.
Mark Wells, Executive Vice President, Independence Medical
Mark Wells joined AssuraMed in 2011 in his current role as Executive Vice President responsible for Independence Medical. From 1997–2007 Mark held a variety of leadership positions at the General Electric Company, including President and CEO for GE Consumer & Industrial for Greater China. Following the role in China, he left the GE Company to pursue three entrepreneurial ventures, which he later sold. Mark returned to GE in December 2007 to assume the role as general manager of the consumer lighting and electrical businesses for North America. He holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in business finance and marketing.
